More MoD Cuts: This Time Search & Rescue

I've always been irritated with the way Gordon Brown has always loudly boasted about Labour's record tax and spend come debt record in office. So where does this get us? Well, not very far if your involved in the Search & Rescue unit at RAF Lossiemouth. The stupid decisions didn't stop at the TA it seems. So, one more time, where is all the money going?

As the BBC reports tonight on the RAF Search & Rescue service:
The Ministry of Defence confirmed the service had only been operating for 12 hours a day since 18 October and would not resume fully until 30 November. It said temporary cuts were needed at the Moray base to ensure current daytime coverage levels are maintained.
The MoD cut crews in 2008 but has been trying to revert to previous levels because of "unmanageable risk".
A cut in SAR helicopter crews from 28 to 24 was announced last year. But the MoD said in a statement: "It subsequently became clear that the implementation of this would present an unmanageable risk and as soon as this was identified, ministers decided to revert to 28 crews.
So the Foreign Office is seen as a joke in Washington, the Home Office isn't fit for purpose, and the MoD is now also a complete basket case. I think we need a new government. Fast.
